Asked for registration code YET AGAIN

Post by Dennis DeSantis » Tue May 21, 2002 7:13 am

I now have three working registration codes for Live 1.5 on a single machine. I was asked for a new one yet again today. No hardware has changed at all in my system.

This, combined with the corrupted wav files that I can't seem to get rid of (on two separate machines) is indicative of some problems.

Please, for the love of God, fix these bugs. If it means disabling copy protection for the next release I strongly urge you to do so.

Because frankly, it doesn't work anyway. Pirates steal your software easily, promptly after the release of a new version, and without hesitation. They will continue to do so no matter how much you refine your copy protection. They do it for every app that they want. No company will stop them. Ever. Meanwhile, legitmate users like me wrestle with broken registrations as a result of these copy protection schemes.

I'm NOT advocating piracy. I'm simply saying that it's going to happen whether you institute copy protection schemes or not. The only people who will suffer are the paying customers.

Tired,

Dennis is right. Piracey sucks but paying for crippled software is insulting. I had a hell of a time getting my response code. A simple serial number is fine but the protection scheme that is in place now is only hurting customer relations. I pay for the technical support .
