I use the live arrangement page for this. Control E to split the loop, Control J to consolidate your clips(chops).Once chopped slices or whatever can be dragged to impulse if so desired.

(this is the first link that comes up when googling for [phatmatik pro] by the way
BUT I like vSampler even more:
www.vsampler.com
vSampler is just as fast at chopping breaks, but you can easily have several breaks spread out across the keyboard with vSampler AND it is multi-timbral.
Also a good purchase -
Energy XT:
www.xt-hq.com - it does sample chopping, vst-hosting etc for just 35$!
mbp 2.66, osx 10.6.8, 8GB ram.

I was real hyped to check out the programs you listed//only problem is I use a Mac and all except for phatmatik pro are only windows only compatiable.....and i cant find a copy of phatmatik pro for purchase anywhere on the internet...it seems as though it is discontinued...I e-mailed glarsoft regarding this hopefully they can help me locate a copy...Machinate wrote:I really really like phatmatik pro:funkeprez wrote:I finally got Ableton Live up and running can anyone point me in the direction of a good plug in that I can use to chop up samples sorta like phatmatik pro which I was going to purchase but I cant find anywhere...thanks in advance
