I was using it for a while in conjunction with Abe.. but, there's not much that FL does better... perhaps the video plugin, and some midi patching functions, but besides that, it's not worth the added time invested in running both simultaneously.. that's just my opinion.. keep in mind that i do love FL, but i would rather simplify, then complexify....
yeah thats what i was gonna use it for instad of the routing in live just make loops in fl easy

I just switched to Mac so I'm not really using FL much anymore(unless I want to setup 2 laptops but that seems like a lot of trouble when I'm trying to scale down). The only thing I really miss is the ability to draw out different drum patterns using the same software instrument and laying those different patterns out in the playlist so I can record the rest of the song in a linear fashion. Am I missing something or can Live do this just as easily? Example:use a drum software instrument to make a verse, chorus, and bridge pattern(including some various fill patterns)and map out the whole song so I can record guitar, bass , vocals, etc over it. What's the easiest way to do this with Live 5? I can't seem to get it. Other than that, I don't need FL anymore but it is a very intuitive program.

Record them into Arranger View.
Do rest of arrangement as a linear song in Arrangement View instead.
Easy
My aren't the wings of butterflies beautiful and do they not make wonderful perturbations.....
Longtime FL user as well. I really love the playlist in FL, so I usually use it to create the basic arrangment of the song, and also access my PC-only instruments, like Z3ta+. I still think midi is much better in FL, although I'm sure that will probably be addressed in future versions of Live. Personally, I'd rather Live doesn't get anymore complicated or "bloated". I don't want the same thing that happended to Cubase to happen to Live.

I have used it for so long that I am somewhat biased for Fruity over Live. I prefer FLS for preparing midi loops -esp for the midi tools and the piano roll . I find the FLS playlist to be more flexible and bit friendlier than the Live Arrangement view. I need to labor much more to get results in Live. I'll keep trying though.
