Mac OS X problem

I brought the Live Demo to school and (the computure is a Mac Osx the new ones.) It said to drag the folder to the hard drive I did and when I clicked on it it said that the folder has been delited I looked though all of it and It seems just fine so whats going on?

Sometimes OSX tries to be "too clever" when you drag something, and it just makes an alias (a shortcut to the ORIGINAL) instead of actually copying it.

To get around this, hold down the option key while you drag the Demo Folder to the hard drive and it will make a proper copy.

i hate to doubel post but this is bugging me Sorry dude it didnt work it said rewire can't work properly so I lcicked continue anyways and it still said folder has been delited so what do i do now? No matter how many times I reinstall it on the osx it still said folder has been delited and I am holding down option ke y so can you mind telling me what I am doing wrong>

since it's a school perhaps you don't have permissions to do this?

no Because Im in the administrator account and Im installing live thats the only way you can install items on a school computer.

Hello,

there was a bug in the very first Live 5 version, which is Live 5.0, that was causing that error message. It's been corrected some three days after the release, but I guess you demo version is still a 5.0 version.
You can download the 5.0.3 demo from our website:

http://www.ableton.com/index/downloads

Try it and get back to me if you still have a problem.

He says the new macs... He's probably trying to run a ppc version on an intel machine :wink:

You smart ! You're right, but still the error sound so much like Live 5.0....

So yes, if the computer is an Intel Mac, you should download the beta version for 5.2, it is the Universal binary version of Live:
