A plug-in (or build into Live’s EQ3 plug-in) which can mono a stereo signal in a frequency range.
Example, you have a stereo signal, ranging from 40 Hz to 3000 Hz, but you want the signal to be mono from 40Hz to 1000 Hz and the stereo from 1000 Hz to 3000 Hz.
Anyone, if such plug-in already exist, I would be happy to hear about it!
Frequency mono plug-in
Re: Frequency mono plug-in
Check out the excellent GVST plug 'Gmulti' - not only is it an excellent multiband compressor but you have control over the stereo width of the audio in each band. In this case simply negate the compressor settings so it isn't squashing the audio - then set the crossovers to encompass the frequency range you wish to 'narrow' and use the mid-band width control to achieve the effect your after.

You could always make an effects group with this setup.
Well when you get back mate also try this:Dan wrote:Thanks, very interesting post. More reasons why Ableton could build it into a plug-in... I'm leaving 4 DK, will try when I return...

Only does freqs below a certain cutoff but handy for tightening up mixes with stereo 'flab' all the same...
