Linking Laptops in Galapagos . . . well OK, Brooklyn.

Post by guvnorbeats » Tue Apr 11, 2006 4:25 am

Hey yo adventurous electronic peeps,

This Thursday, April 13th at 8PM, my pal Shawn Pelton and I are linkin our Ableton Live laptops and making music... at the very same time!

We call ourselves Black Canary, but basically we are a couple of electro-chemists with acoustic building blocks working to build beats and ambient excitement wherever we can.

Special reasons why you should attend thursday at 8:

- My sister is driving all the way from Washington DC.
- We've got new music ready to play
- We've even printed up a few CDs for the occasion.
- Giles Hendrix will be spinning video on the big screen http://www.gesture.org
- Lucibel Crater http://www.lucibelcrater.com - our favorite band from Brooklyn will be laying down the cello-infused electro eclectic jam on it. Check out music at their site!
- Galapagos has a bad ass reflection pool at the entrance!
- Its and early show! We go on at 8pm sharp! The whole shabang is over at 10 so make sure and come early.

Cover charge is 10 dollars going to the rental of the very fine back room.

It's been said:
"If you haven't been there before, Galapagos is an evocative space in Williamsburg located within less than three drunken stumbles of the Bedford Avenue L train stop (first stop in Brooklyn)."

Remember, we're playing in their newly renovated back room so make sure and turn right after you walk past the pool . . . ok its a puddle fine!

Directions (from the galapagos website)

*From Manhattan by Subway* - Take the *L* train (catch it along 14th Street in the City) to Bedford Ave. (1st stop in Brooklyn). You’ll be on Bedford Avenue and North 7 Street, walk one block to N. 6th, make a right and walk 2 1/2 blocks down to #70. We're between Wythe Avenue and Kent Avenue.

Or take the *JMZ *to Marcy Ave. Walk two blocks west (toward the river) on Broadway, to Bedford Ave. Catch the B61 bus on the corner and take it to N7 (approximately 5 minute ride).

=================

hope to see you there!
