How did that worl out. My friend uses Nicecast, but Live hogs the buffer stream, so Live won't work. He has to use only vinyl...
15" PB 2.5 Ghz, 4 Gig RAM, 750 GB HD, Live 9 still no cue points or program change messages?!?. Doesn't do shit.

yeah actually thats very interesting, i've been looking into that, and apparently there is no real solution if you're planning of using only one machine.

If you have two computers u can allways use the first one to play and the second one to listen to the final mix and stream it on the fly.

Then when you have only one computer and you are using the DS or MME interface, i know there are certains programs that can capture the audio and send it to a shoutcast server. But when u use ASIO for prelistening, those programs are unable to tap into the asio interface.

It would be great if there was some kind of VST plugin that would send audio to a shoutcast or icecast server.. Anyone know of a way to achieve that using a single computer?

BTW, NI's new Traktor 2.6.1 has built-in icecast broadcasting, apparently it works pretty well.. Thats what got me reinterested in that...

Well, there is this small application that is called Virtual Audio Cable (VAC). It will allow you to split and merge virtual audio streams inside your PC.

Might that possibly help?

There is a demo you can download:

i did this last night.
i use two machines, one mac, one pc.

i connect the line out of the mac to the line in of the pc and run winamp/shoutcast dsp on it. then i run dj software and/or live and the sound routes directly to the pc mixed. it works perfectly sound-wise. if you're using live5, i have posted a few "issues" in the bug forum about dj'ing problems i had during last night's show.

good luck.

I am trying to do this with shoutcast (with 1 laptop)

If anyone has any tips let me know, however, I may be able to use 2 computers which would make it much easier...........

Cheers

I was thinking, hmm thats probably not possible within the
specs of vst, but the again http://www.vstunnel.com/en/
Makes me think that this is indeed possible, kinda wierd no one
has done it yet. Vst -> Shoutcast

Now that would rock.

Would love to get this set up also, just asked before reading this

One laptop running ableton, plus the shoutcast dsp plugin.
And the shout DNSA GUI running...

That would be great, how do you do it?

http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... =shoutcast

Allthough that vstunnel looks cool, something like yahoo chat with audio?

But still i need to give out and url for my listeners who use quicktime
So the shoutcast is what i need.
