Clips not starting at beginning

Post by Vic Thrill » Sat Nov 15, 2003 3:09 am

In scene mode or session mode, when I stop playback and restart, much of the time it picks up in the middle of the scene as opposed to kicking it off from the beginning. From what I can gather it's happening randomnly. Live is slaving off my drum machine but it does the same when I take it out of external sync.
Also at randomn, certain clips within a scene will playback at lengths that don't correspond to what I have the loop set to in the sample edit window. What the hell is going on here?! The one thing in my setup that is questionable is my soundcard which is a Sound Devices USBPre 1.5 They're still working off a beta driver for OSX. Could this all be soundcard related? I wouldn't think that could affect things like clips getting played back at the wrong lengths.

there are some other threads about this too

try hitting the 'stop clips' button before you begin playback again

i have this problem too...it makes no sense, i sync off either my drum machine, or tried rewire into SX, and this was happening and i have no idea why, and i have a very stable motu 828 with the new driver, so it's a live problem, not a driver one
