Not such a bad idea.
A friend of mine has a small sound system which could be used for an outside-ish thing. If we can find someone's event, let's do it!

This is the schedule for World Cup matches - http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/w/calendar.html
As some of you are so interested in football, we should have it on an off-day.
But enough of the faffing around, I'm going to scope out some venues around here (Putney) and I suggest you do the same in your area.
Here are a couple of things to consider -
We can expect a minumum of 7 people, but would hope for about 13 (or more ?)
and would require a mixer and speakers or just access to the house stereo system. It may be suitable for the meeting to take place in a separate function room where we can make our own noise.
What do the Live VJs have to say about their requirements? Perhaps a large white wall/ sheet/ screen onto which we can project stuff might be good.
Power supply.

Of course there will be things I have forgotten here, but that is what I'm going to consider when looking for somewhere around here.

PS. 20th is out - Summer solstice! 8) 8O

Hi all, just to make you aware, Thurs is laptop music nite. I've posted another thread so you can check it out there.

Most of these guys on the Line-up are playing live (except me - djing) and are really worth checking out, all will be using live, and the new mini kenton controller will be showcased.

Have a look see: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40163 as well as www.myspace.com/laptopmusicnite

Cheers
Emil

I have secured a venue for the next (and future) 'Live London' meeting(s).

No strings (i.e. money) as long as we don't cause the landlord any hassle.

Yes, landlord - downstairs (separate room) at the Putney Walkabout bar/pub (opposite Putney cinema just over the bridge).

There is a large room we can use which has house system and mixer and the bar is upstairs. Licensed for use until 11pm.

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays are out. They have a DJ on Fridays, but it would probably be okay.
The more people the merrier.

So, let's work out a date & time and do this!

:D :D :D

Well, Putney is a definitely yes for me 'cos thats where I live! Monday, Thursday or Friday would be best for me. Now need to get my tunes into a decent shape to play at something like this!
Kit: Sony Vaio E-series laptop (Intel Core i5, 4GB RAM) RemoteZero SL, Launchpad, Akai MPD16 drumpad, cheap-ass MIDI keyboard
