Problems recording midi

is there a way to record midi and then ear what you recorded when you keep playing on it but without record it?

I mean, I´m using phatmatik pro (is like recycle but vst) in a midi track. I monitor what i´m playing, let´s say some drums but then, if i want to keep adding things, let´s say some hi hats, if i monitor it, i can not here what i´m playing until I play record... is there a way to play with the keys at the same time that you ear what you previously recorded? I hope my doubt it´s clear

After you record a clip it won't record over what you allready have unless the global [OVR] is activated on lives transport bar, even if the track is record enabled.

Yes, i Know, but still you didnt aswer the question. I want to ear what i´m playing at the same time that i ear what i already have recorded withouh record what i´m actually playing, is this clear? Thanks... help!!

use two tracks? one on which you record the midi clips, one on which you monitor the output of the vst?
