external hard drive suggestions

Post by illsub1 » Mon Dec 01, 2003 9:59 pm

Hey what's a good, inexpensive, large, RUGGED, fast hard drive to use for live use? Suggestions please. I work at Sam Ash and I am so suprised at how few people have heard of live! It is the revolution for music. Oh well I guess the masses are always a few steps behind. Love you guys!!!!!!!!!

7200 rpm firewire drives with the oxford chipset are are what you need.

Check out the drives by Lacie - http://www.lacie.com or at
FireWire Direct - http://www.firewiredirect.com/

Or you could buy a USB2/Firewire caddy and mount a regular internal 7200rpm IDE drive inside it, that way it's upgradeable when HDs get bigger or faster, and this is probably a cheaper option too. It certainly was when I bought my caddy earlier this yr.
