can I assign MIDI learn to a VST on an audio track?

Post by astaplatz » Thu Jun 22, 2006 6:27 pm

Hi is there anyway to get an effect to listen to MIDI - otherthan the via the ableton plugin expand/assign window? In particular I am trying the camel space effect plugin, it has a nice x/y control window built inside the plugin, but it does not apear in the list of possible midi assignable objects; HOWEVER, within camel space I can click "midi learn" on the x,y pad - problem is, the audio track never gets any midi signal sent to it [since audio tracks can only have audio input on the drop down, not midi] - is there any workaround? otherwise this is a serious limitation on the camel space plugin... [not to mention vocoders which need midi nots ins etc.]

thanks!

seb.

make a midi track, make sure that the output view of the track is visible (I/O)

you should have the audio track with the effect on available as a destination. there is a sub pulldown available if you have more than one midi capable audio effect on the destination track
