Too funny Robert. It's not about the follow actions is it! You were just itchin to tell someone about Live 6 :D

He gets like this before a new release...it's a result of sleep deprivation. If he doesn't post on the forum, there are bound to be countless (more) bugs in the release. For our own good, let the man Follow Action to his heart's content.

I made a follow action track as a sound source for testing some new
functions in Live. A collegue who heard it said i should record an hour
and put it online. So i did. Here is it:

I cannot put the set online since it has been creared with an interim
version of Live and it will not open with Live 5. It is nothing special.
Six tracks running operator plus reverb, a beat repeat, some filters.
The MIDI clips contain one single note and there are all triggered by
follow actions with different timing. The tracks look like this:
Clip > Random> Scale > Operator > EQ > Reverb and
two tracks Random > Chord > Scale > Operator > Reverb.
one send is Reverb > Beat Repeat

Have fun...

Robert

-six session tracks, mostly with this structure in each track:
-some clips with random follow actions and different settings of FA time and quantise
-Random>Scale>Chord>Operator>EQ>Reverb>Beat Repeat
-one send with Filter Deleay
-master with EQ>CompressorII>Saturator all massively compressed and pumping.

and then launch first scene and go drink some coffee while recording the result into track seven in session view. afterwards opening file in iTunes, convert to mp3, upload and write this text.

okay, forgot to mention i made this with my laptop using the build in speakers. might sound like crap over a PA....

enjoy anyway.

Robert

// as soon as Live 6 is in public beta i will make the sets public also.
I'm really looking foward to this set! This track is really chill!

nice stuff robert.

Was messing around with follow actions and routing last night in bed on my laptop, got into a trance just grooving to complete randomness. Great fun and totally trippy.

I may as well post these again from the 'matrix' thread. None of these us any kind of sample or midi, but you do have to press play to make the beat repeaters work.

download an abstracty number

Download the sort of groovy ALS

Download a melodic Tangerine Dream style Generative ALS

I have more of this sort of stuff, it's music for when I dont feel like making music!
