I'm sure Sampler is fantastic, I'm sure it's all innovative and lovely.
but so that you can see why I am not all fizzy with emotion over it - here is my current shopping list in order:
- Fireface 400
- core 2 duo desktop computer
- new keyboard stands and equipment racks
- Adam A7 monitors, possibly with Sub 8
- camper van
- acoustic treatment, bass traps and the like
- continues in this vein for a long way
I tend to make instruments both real-world and software, it's fun and I get the results I want. It also makes it very dificult for a softsynth to get on that list.
I have nothing against Abletons drive to create soft-synths of a high quality, as I don't mind Ferrari making high class sports cars.
I won't be buying one of those either, I want a camper van.
