I'm looking for a sidechainable compressor or eq that only compresses or "ducks" the frequencies which are present in the key input signal. IE: If I have a sound with a filter cutoff sweeping through, then only the level of the frequencies it has left audible in it will be used to compress (lower the volume of) the corresponding frequencies of the compressed or "ducking" sound.
I'd sooo love to find a plug or workflow that makes this possible!!!
I currently use TC Native 3.1's sidechain compressor with the key on a return track behind an eq/filter to control the reactive frequency range.
