I don't actually. I use my Adrenalinn II as preamp and amp simulator.
I also have this GTplayer express software with my m-audio fast track pro. It works but I rather put my pedals in front of the Adrenalinn.

But when you want to record an amp, put a microphone in front of it and record that. OK, maybe too obvious

I've spent a lot of time trying to get some kind of creamy distortion out of Live and you can't do it.

Ultimately, someone here led me to Simulanalog Guitar Suite and I haven't looked back. It's tiny, it's free, it's stable and it emulates Marshall, Boss and Ibanez amps and distortion effects brilliantly. Just go to simulanalog.org and download it already!

Cheers.

I use Guitar Rig 2 for all my effects for Guitars in Ableton... It is really really amazing. It has the user interface similar to reason in its ease without the dull sound of reason. You can get some really Lush Sounds and can manipulate the heck outta them in realtime. Amplitude is pretty good but pales in comparison to Guitar Rig 2.

It is a must buy.
