Live 6 and Hyper Threading
Live 6 and Hyper Threading
Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone know if Live 6 is optimized for/takes advantage of processors with Hyper Threading technology (Pentium 4 with HT)? Or is it only Dual Core users that will benifit from drastic performance improvements?

Currently beta testing on a HT PC and it assigns affinity to CPU zero only.
I find I don't need to disable hyperthreading however with this beta release .
You don't get hyperthreaded support though with six.
Which is making me scream iMac faster than I can rob a bank.
My aren't the wings of butterflies beautiful and do they not make wonderful perturbations.....
Reading the web around the world, i discover HT technology its not suported by nobody, and usually no icreace perormance or only increase just 2% !! lol!
Dual core performance compared from v5 vs vs6 its just 10% , its great.......but at that % pentium 4 3.2ghz work really more faster of core duo 2ghz !! if not belivme, just test.
SO.................core duo form now its not really faster !!!
Pentium D yea, that iits really more faster, but no the core duos !!
And about HT, i sugest just disable, no have any performance profit, and can caus ecrash under some situations. rare situations but can !!

Core due its really great , but the first post on the forum not show really great improvement of speed in ableton 6...............so, for now i think its not really great idea pay higher price for core duo, when in one year, can but dual core micros, for lower price, at this moment are really expnesive the notebooks with core duo.
I use for now Toshiba P4-M 3.06 GHZ, with Hyper Therading disable !

I get seriously better performance with the Live 6 beta than I do with live 5. Almost a 60-70% difference on my quad G5. I have a song that was pegging the cpu meter in 5 at over 70% in some places in the song, which only hit me for 24-30% in the beta.
The multicore/multiprocessor supoort makes a HUGE difference for me.

Sr i talk abut comparing pentium 4 HT 3ghz with dual cores, and you only see maximum 10%
Please dont compare G5 with intel.
I comapring same technology and if you compare imprvement from PENTIUM 4-M 3.02 GHZ with core duo 1.83ghz, trhe maximum improvemnt its just 10%................so really i should spend lot of dollars in new core duo?
From now, i think no !
Best regards.
