Help: Cueing using a Powerbook G4

I am trying to figure out how to cue using a Powerbook G4.
I have a M-audio Transit USB and obviously the internal sound card on my mac.
Is it possible to have the master audio go out of the Transit and the cue come out of the headphone port on the laptop? If so, how do you route the sound to each.
As of right now, I can only select one or the other for all sound output.

If anyone can help, it would be really appreciated.

to my knowledge this is not possible... and even if it was i would be reluctant to work with it.

imagine a car which is powered by 2 engines made by different companies -
the odds are you would get nowhere FAST!

metaphors aside, you need one sound card with 4x mono / 2x stereo outputs.

Can any one recommend an external sound card that is not too expensive that has those parameters. Ie: so I can cue using Live?

m-audio gear is quite cheap, but they make shit drivers and their support is not that good. (plenty of evidence of that on this forum, despite ableton having a deal with m-audio!)

Edirol seem to make some decent kit for the price - not sure about how stable they are.

also quite impressed with the focusrite sapphire range (http://www.focusrite.com/index.php?page ... saffire_le)

and a few more tips:

- go for firewire / not USB, better sustained data rate and less likely to glitch
- once you have found some that u like, check on forums to see how they work with ur machine and OS
- dont go for the lowest of the low - it will most likely perform to the same standard (or worst) than the standard mac sound card.

Yes you can doit only if you have OSX Tiger.
If you use OSX Panther then you can not.

FYI Aggregate Devices in Audio/Midi Setup is the Tiger feature DJ Vakis is talking about.
