Seattle Live User Group 1.4 "5.1 Surround Sound in Live"

Post by kris moon » Tue Jul 25, 2006 10:13 pm

Ableton Live User Group Seattle 1.4
August 10th 2006 7-8pm
Oseao, 1402 E Pike Street

"5.1 Surround Sound in Live"

David Miles Huber & Marcell Marias, aka EU/5one, are going to show us how to use Live to create a 5.1 Surround Mix for live performance with the help of a few extra Mackie speakers and creative signal flow. Not just for the home theater, surround sound offers a new world of musical expression. EU/one will perform a brand new song in 5.1 for this event.

- 5.1 routing in Live
- Speaker placement
- 5.1 concepts and technique

Dave is a professional musician in the downtempo dance genre, who has produced CDs that have sold over the million mark. He’s also authored numerous books on the subjects of recording and electronic music. His most prominent book Modern Recording Techniques (Focal Press - Boston/London) has been an industry standard text worldwide for almost 25 years.

Marcell is an electronic musician with a discography that stretches over the last 20 years, including soundtracks for movies and video.

Together David and Marcell perform as EU/5one, combining lush downtempo with polyrhythmic beats to create a rich musical landscape.

Could someone please publish a video, notes or summary of this event pretty please? I know a lot of people would be very interested in learning how to do this in Live... Thanks in advance!

Awesome, thanks!

P.S. If you could do it in any format other than WMV it'd be appreciated by many more viewers too!

Is there any way to be notified of the Seattle group meetings in advance?
I completely missed out on this last one.

he posted this July 25th

He posts them well in advance, you just have to pay attention to the listing

I don't see one posted for September so I'm not sure if they're doing one or not

I'd PM him to find out
