I like EQ8 very much thanks ableton

Well why do i like it?
1.It sounds good enough for many of my eq needs.
2.it is VERY fast to get around
3.it is VERY cpu friendly
4.being able to ajust mono and stereo signals seperatly is so handy at this cpu load.
5.being able to turn bands on and off quickly

what I would change?

1. show both eq curves when using stereo mono mode
2.have a "hi quality" or even a linear phase mode for important work
3.rignt click/controll click on a band changes the Q of the band as in many other eq plugins on the market.

Thanks ableton

Personally, I love the M/S mode. Lets you go crazy with stereo effects on bass-heavy stuff and then just remove the bass from the side channel. Voila, no problems if you want to cut to vinyl.

Exactly. I was trying to get something going in reaktor just for that reason. Now it is in eq8. Done. Now I just need some good MIDI LFO :D

I said the same thing early on....Alex said maybe, but I suppose not. I mean in the very first or second beta.

It would make sense right? Like almost all other eqs that do A/B????

And the functionality is right there. It is already done in every other mode, to quote Rob Corrdry: "I mean....come on".

Yes I hear ya. It is the same thing with showing multiple paramiters in arrange view. Keep the clean simple interface but please let me see what I am doing. If you want to see multiple paramiters in arrange please post in this thread

I too would love a linear phase switch, for when transparency is everything.

Does it really sound any different to EQ4?

If I wrote music program code I could tell ya but I don't (yet)

but basically in my ears it sounds cleaner (creamier) - it just sounds better

Wouldn't have been my choice of words. I would think "creamier" would imply a pleasing coloration of the sound, like saying something was warmer - but not necessarily cleaner.

But whatever.
