Need More Cowbell

Post by Zotfripper » Tue Sep 19, 2006 4:29 am

Hi friends.

Ok, I hope I'm not makeing a bad first impression here, but...

I recently started messing around with Live 5, and was shocked to find NO COWBELL. It has packs with everything from "wet dish rag" to "pill bottle shaker" to "bird smashing into window". Apparently no one thought of sampling the all important cowbell? Hard to believe...

So this is my quandry... I have no cowbell to sample my own-damn-self, so I need some help.

Where does a guy have to go to find a good quality cowbell sample? I know the SnL thing was a hit there for a minute, but did some NBC lawyer clear the web of all cowbell? Honest, I just want the sound, I'm not going to rip off anyones variety show.

Anyways, Hi everyone. I'll post again soon, less aggrivated. :)

Hi,

just type "808 samples" or "909 samples or whatever old drum computer in google, and for sure you'll find the sounds you are looking for.

Bah, I ended up find a MIDI clip in Live, and stripping everything out of it but the bell, and re-timed it. Seemed to be cleaner than what I was finding on the web. A little bit of work, but it did the trick, until I can get the OMNIBELL 9000 or whatever that thing Kung Fu posted was...

That's the most unnecessary piece of music equipment I've ever seen.

There's no important difference between each setting (listen to the samples...it's hilarious).

It's like this alright... it's the sustain, can u hear it? It's still ringing and the omnibell goes to ELEVEN man, eleven. You can't do that with a regular cowbell, most of em are pure shite.
