i'm not quite sure I understand you but you made me think about the fact that at this point computers aren't very good at simulating accoustic instruments, I image as time progresses and algorhythms get more complicated that computers will eventually be able to simulate any instrument somewhat authentically (without sampling). but that takes alot of power.

maybe one day we'll even have a computer human voice that sounds real but ISN'T sampled!
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

Ableton Live 15

Now with 80-core support!
HD3DVST/24HDAU
Vintage 44.1/16 .wavs for that 2006 grime!
Operator 2
Sampler 10
Monolake 8
Newest instruments in Live 15 is the Mind Control and Brown note synths.
The Mind Control synth is used for "Improving record sales" and increasing "Crowd Respond" Hands in the air ... just set your parameters and they'll keep them up for days!
Brown note synth is the latest in Abletonology used on your worst enemies or as a gag for friends.

I can summon up a few reasons to use 80 cores
8O

Then ableton can finally take out the cpu meter, which just clutters the gui now

Shock statement from Intel's CEO:-
After thoughtful consideration, we have decided that computers are fast enough for the time being. This means that Intel will focus the forthcoming five years on developing new technology that makes filthy third-world water into clean, drinkable water.
