This is a bit misleading as the demo mode activation is separate from the EIC Packs installation you can find in the boxed version. The download comes without those multiple gigabyte packs, but the Live application itself is always the same. That's why the download version also contains the "demo switch" in the products page without being useful - at least for now. :)

Hi Dom,

You mean that sounds like Electric Piano ubder Instruments Racks are not a 'demo' lighter part of EIC? If it's the case then sorry for my previous answer.

The sounds you are speaking of (e.g. the Electric Piano) are part of the Live 6 Basic pack that comes with the download installer, you can see the packs in the Live Packs Tab in the preferences of Live.

As the library is about 12gigabytes it is only delivered with the boxed version and you can try it in demo mode for free there. In order to unlock it, you have to purchase a serial for it, right.

yes, but I bought live 5 two weeks ago, and the upgrade to the 6 was free but just the download version, not the boxed.

I thought EIC came with the boxed version? You have to pay for it twice?

This is all as clear as mud to me...

Upgrade with boxed version costs 80 euro more than download. This 80 euro HAS to be for EIC right? It can't be that you pay 80 euro more and then need to pay again?!?

Cap1tanA: No, as shown on the page the boxed upgrade contains also the license for the EIC, even if you decide to get the box afterwards for EUR99. You don't have to pay twice. It may be a bit confusing as you can also get the box and the manual for EUR29 - in this case without the EIC.

????????????????????
buy the boxed version/upgrade of live 6 to get the eic demo. then if you like it its another $119, making the total cost $219? oh wait, no. you get a license with the box, so that's like getting the eic for $19 off. with no way to buy it without the box upgrade, yet you can buy a license from the site. is this for new non-upgrade buyers? and you don't need sampler for the eic. and sampler doesn't come with any presets? if you make a nice multi-sampled patch for sampler, will it play in simpler? and if you want to edit a patch from the eic you have to have sampler? so to get the full-fledged ableton sampler package it costs $419...oh wait no $319?...confused? now you know how we feel!
sorry, you don't have to answer all these questions. i make joke, high five!
