ableton with novation's remote SL

Hi,

I just got the remote SL which maps onto ableton using its clever automap feature.

in general, its lots of fun, but heres a prob i have - when i tweak controls on the SL theres no probs, but when i then tweak things direct on ableton, such as the volume of different tracks, i get serious latency probs, like the whole audio cutting out for a few miliseconds etc.

has anyone else had similar probs with remote, and any solutions?

revisit your midi settings. Uncheck EVERYTHING then with the options->preferences->midi box open enable one box at a time and only check what you need. Keep the HELP box open and read what each setting does. Beware of MIDI loops.

It might also be that you need to increase your buffer size a bit. Set it really high and see if that helps. To get it right, start a set going and adjust it down until you hear pops the bump it up a bit.
