Pops and clicks on the saffire…

I have a Toshiba dual core 1.8 with 2gb rame exHD 250gb lacie, remote 25 sl midi. Saffire is 4-6pin, I’ve been getting pops and clicks for months with it making ableton and the saffire useless...if I run windows media player thur it I still pops and clicks. This is random, no cpu spikes, I downloaded firewire updates and all the updates I could find, I tried to use pcmia card to firewire, I still get pops and clicks, there is nothing in the bois that can help, no irq conflicts. I run 8 channels and 8 send/returns (unilty effect). I sent the unit back and got a brand new one in and still got pops and clicks. I tried running it on a dell 600m and got no pops or clicks. When I play serato I never get pops or clicks…buffer size in ableton don’t matter or sample rate. I used asio4all and saffire’s asio.. no idea what to do..is it the saffire, the laptop(windows media center)??? Any ideas..

I run the all the outputs into a rane 2016a so channels 1-4 is ableton 5-6 is serato..

I'd be interested to hear what anyone suggests. I have a 1.66 ghz Dual Core Toshiba and am getting the same thing. I've played with the latency settings and no matter what I'm using - Firewire 410 or built-in audio - I still get the poops and clicks. grrr....
