It's not so much that will make a difference, it's just an easier way of working with everything OUTSIDE of Live IMO. I mean, pretty much running Live on XP is the same as running Live on a Mac once you're in the program itself (minus some key command differences). Going with Mac or PC is more a personal preference concerning how you like to work on a computer in general. It's a contentious topic, but I'd say neither it really BETTER than the other.

I recently switched from XP to OSX to see what all the hype was about too. As a geeky computer type, I can really appreciate OSX and it's simplicity, but I bet your average user really could care less. I was working fine in Windows for years with no issues, and I'm sure it'll be the same in OSX.

It depends on what you wanna do. I use a PC for writing music and an iMAC for DJing, both have Live, both have similar specs. The PC is great for plugins but has a tendancy to die on it's arse. The MAC is rocksolid, very quick, and very reliable, but I'm still having trouble with the way the OS does things.

Basically, MAC are pretty, but expensive. PC's are cheap, but a little bit rubbish.

With the exact same specs both PCs and Macs tend to be almost identical in price, the main difference being operating systems. Personally, I prefer working in OSX, XP gives me aneurysms.

Here's the thing

doesn't really matter if you can't make a beat - even if you can, it still doesn't matter because talent shines through all - doesn't matter what you use...

but on a personal tip

I've had both and I'm in the market for a laptop

the deciding factor for me is the plug-in thing

there's more plug-ins for free for PC than MAC - there's not one MAC ONLY plug-in I can't see myself living without

however, there are PC ONLY Plug-ins I'd freak out if I couldn't use

so, something to think about

they both work well -
