OUTPOST - Melbourne Australia.

Post by Winterpark » Tue Oct 17, 2006 11:50 pm

hey peeps...

My friends are organizing this laptop jam the last wednesday of each month in Melbourne. Next one is on Wed October 25th (next week)

It's basically free improv on laptops... byo laptop, controller and open mind... you just gotta take a number, find some space on the table, and input into the mixer.

I went to the first one last month. I started with with an empty live-set and just went with what was happening...programming as i went... had a blast...
most of the people there were using live.

It's a great place to meet laptop musos from awesome local bands/acts....

for more info check out the site....

Yeah that's a great bar, I did a recording there a couple of weeks ago for some of the red bull guys. Great vibe and the guys who run the place are awesome.

Last one was amazing with a great set from guest artists "Stimulus" who are: Steve Adam, Tim Kreger and Ross Bencina (creator of AudioMulch)

The next outpost is on Wed Nov 29th, and already confirmed as guest artist is Amanaksa (aka Simon Lewis) http://myspace.com/amanaska

Come down and have a listen, and check out what it's all about, or byo lappy and controller, and find a space on the table!

Greetings connoisseurs of audio and visual stimulation..
How quickly the month rolls around and yes yes, it is indeed time for the monthly open laptop a/v jam that is Outpost. The third installment takes place this Wednesday the 29th of November from 8:30-11:30p.m. at
Horse Bazaar.

We have two feature artists this month; Amanaksa (aka Simon Lewis) is confirmed to open #3 featuring one of his lush world beat sets. Naturally he’ll be hanging about for some jamming later on. Isnod (aka Damian Stephens) is also going to roll up for and play the second feature slot. Laptop madness guaranteed!

We have plenty of folk coming down for the jam as well so get there early to get on the bus!

As always, walk in performers are most welcome so, Bring your gear and have no fear...
