my sends are greyed out

hi

i have four effects set up on return tracks and i can send tracks to them fine but the send dials in the return tracks themselves are greyed out so i cant do any sending of sends to other sends , or to themselves for feedback if you see what i mean.

anyone know what i am doing wrong?

i searched but got about 2000 replies

Right-click > Activate Sends

You save your Template Song with them activated, if you wish.
