record clip end point change

Post by kiwikitesurfer » Thu Dec 07, 2006 6:14 am

Quite simply I want to automate a n n n n nineteen stutter kind of sound but make it more interesting by moving the loop end point (live) and recording those changes in a sequence (ie moving around teh loop end point as sample plays..

sounds so cool when dragging it around on screen but cannot record it.

Live has got me interested in making music again with a computer simply because you have to spend less time on the computer and more time jamming.
The quicker i can lay down my ideas the more time i can spend boardriding!

You cant automate it, but you can do this:

press record in session view, flick end marker all you want, stop recording, flip over to arrange view, select what you recorded and hit ctl-J to consolidate it all into one blob.

yay recorded end point movement.

open clip view, hit midi learn, anything that changes color can be tweaked, play a bit with a mouse, then assign whatever to knobs.

Another way is to set the global quantise amount to a knob and then set launch scene or clip to another knob. tweak over ice, serve hot, enjoy.

can you inset another audio track and record audio from the track you're messing with?

very simple solution...
