Sharing Clips with Other People

Post by drez » Sat Apr 24, 2004 7:17 pm

I have created some clips that I would like to send to a guy over the internet. I know that I need to send him the .wav file but how do I keep the clip information "attached" to it when I send it to him. I've done a cool offset thing on this sample and I want him to have the sample AND the clip information? I read the manual on clicking the "save" button in the sample part of the clip editor, but it didn't work.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
drez

Thanks for the reply!

On a different note, you posted a song a while back in the "Post your music" thread. You said that it was basically one sample that you used throughout. I was amazed!!! Incredible! A couple of questions.

1. Was that Bass sound the same sample?
2. Can I got a copy of that tune??? I love love LOVE it :-)

Thanks,
drez

Hi drez,

That song is online at http://www.boysen.se/studio/00_01_2004_live.mp3 Just write click (PC) ore alt-click (mac) on the link to download it.

The stand up bass and the hihat pattern used in the bridge are plain audio loops. It's THE SYNTH LINES, playing fast 16th note patterns, that are made up of short chunks from the preacher mans voice. I made a clip of the vocal speach, looped a short segment where the guy keeps a plain note and tuned the sample. Then I unlinked it and made the region longer. Now I just had to use the pen tool to write the "synth" phrasing in as volume clip envelopes and the melodies as transpose clip envelopes.

The kick and snare were "pattern sequenced" with the same technique. I really like that hard sequenced "drum machine"-like feeling the beats got. Glad you liked the song too :-)
