yeah congratulations, great one, I'm trying to build a step seq like this one for weeks now on my Lemur, without any good results (maybe the pluggo thing is what is missing to me....)

He got the lemur last week on the monday.
He made this sequencer in 2 or 3 nights

If I didnt before, I certianly want a lemur now!

whats the track you are sequencing ? is that a finished version? wouldnt mind hearing the rest of that!

Thanks! I've had a bunch of good comments about this track - it is actually just a free improv, using random sounds from my set. That's the main beauty of it, really, I can get into "finished" track territory quite quickly - I will make it a point to record something proper soon.

Do you use max? If so, then a great starting point is the qsui.drummer patch by Darwin Grosse, neatly zipped up here:

It uses a matrixctr-based sequencer, that is easy to expand to something useful.

thanks for the tip but I'm only using the runtime for the moment, so I can't build my patches... but i'll take a look at this patche anyway.

I haven't done much testing on this, since I make it a point to use OSC as much as possible, but it feels very very good.

Seriously. Buy one first & try to fill its memory up with the controls you need before you go for two, unless you're sharing.

My fiance was cool with me getting one in that skeptical g.a.s.-hating kind of way. About a week after it showed up she tried the Modul8 template (she's a VJ) & now we're trying to find out how to get another one.

I get the feeling that the Lemur will finally have some competition by the end of the summer, but I can't imagine it will be as well thought out.

While you're waiting for yr Lemur(s) to come in, download the JazzEditor. If you hold down E while mousing around in the templates, you can see what the physics of the controls are like.

The thing is insane. It's pretty much required for any/all Ableton fiends that can swing it. I can't wait to learn Max now, too.
