DnB drum writing techniques

Hey all..so I've just started using SAMPLER and have never really used a multisampler for drum loops. I understand you can do some really dope stuff with it. Please give me some short tutorials on some techniques if you don't mind sharing.

Also, what do you use to make your drum break edits with? Is Recycle the way to go for this still? I use the volume in the clip envelopes, markers, and am trying to grasp the sample offset for this sort of thing, but that doesn't seem like the best process for chopping and editing those classic chunky breaks for heavy layering/thick loud sounds.

Please insight me to any other techniques you guys are using.

Impulse is pretty sweet but I find the classic breaks to sound alot better. I guess I could drag these sounds in there one by one, but that's so tedious and time consuming. Any suggestions? Point me towards some great kits maybe?

Classic breaks...

I usually just turn off snap and edit breaks in Abletons arrangement window. This way I can keep the groove of the original break. If i want to do things like snr or kik runs I usually turn snap back on.

I have a hardware sampler but i don't use it anymore..

not really, it's a start and that's where its roots are, if you'd rather start with pre-made loops, that's cool too.

after that, get the BASS lines down, there's a tip in the tips n tricks sticky for that.

after the 2nd snare, u might wanna remove the first "ba boom" it might be too much shit soundin for the DnB tempo, u definitely wanna include sum snare repetition "chika-chika" then the "boom bip" (4th snare) for a little more DnBish flava.
