There should be a revampment in the color and texture of the user interface. We understand that sophisticated graphics can eat up cpu cycles, but with this is where multicore and multiprocessor support will come in handy as FSB is gaining more bandwith moderately as technology advances. It will give user's an evolutionary experience with consideration.

I think Live' GUI is not really designed to save cpu..
It's designed to be as transparent as possible..

Since Live has little to none reference to the real world I cannot see why it should be texture mapped..

You know that there's an unofficial color scheme editor for Live?

Part of Live appealing is the neat interface. I wouldn't touch it.

- My 2 cents

Yep, I like it too the way it is. The point of it being simple is obviously to be as clean as possible.

Of course, why not add some 3d/texture-themes too for those who like them, that would be nice. But I personally don't need those.

Does anyone know if Live's interface is vector based or does it just look like that? Because if it is, it would be so cool to zoom things to make them even more clear while gigging..

so instead of graphical tricks, I'd prefer making it even more flexible.

ok via skins ...but i would not change the core gui look in anything other than very subtle tweaky ways.

coming from cubase sx and having used many other daws...live's visual is exceptional. clean, out of the way - extremely well thought out.

Its fair enough that lots of people are happy with Lives GUI, but lots of people would also like some changes, or at least, the OPTION, to change it.

Im not talking about skins either.
Some subtle textures could really go a long way to help the GUI in my opinion.
It doesnt mean we want something that looks "real", "like hardwarde" or "3D". .. Perhaps something a little more tangeable.
Most importantly for me, in arrangement view, Id like the background in the main arrangement section to be different from the section to the right, and below.

A little bit of shading, textures, or lighting effects, can go a very long way towards making a GUI more interesting to look at for long periods, without losing any transparency.

CPU usage has nothing to do with it. Nobody is asking for animation or morphing, just more textured elements.

At least give us the OPTION!

My 2 cents.

glad u agree. it really would look 10 times better for me.
These kind of visual clues really improve workflow.
