some of the great musicians have changed the course music through thought, some through anger, some through love, some through will.

The GFOS changed it through heart, soul, sweat and tears.

heaven's band just got a whole lot funkier

I knew him well. The guitar player in my band(horsepower)actually plays guitar for James. I spoke to Keith tonight. They were about to head out tomorrow for a 3 week tour. They haven't played or been paid in over a month. James actually wanted to pass away right after a show but he did the next best thing......Christmas. I can hear him talking right now..."on the day Jesus came in I went out". That was his sense of humor. Have a funky Christmas.

James Brown is dead....

I'm so disapointed (and shocked) that someone didn't quote L.A. Style earlier...

RIP the Godfather...
Kicking myself harder than ever before...

I remember around 10 years ago watching TV one evening I saw James Brown play on David Letterman. My jaw dropped. They were tighter than ever. I mean, they fucking killed. It was sick sick sick-ass to the bone. I was blown away. It's kinda crazy. The memory I have from watching TV that one night really inspires me.

I made a vow then to see them play live. I've let myself down.

This shall not happen again.

And another thing... if the story of Christmas has always seemed kinda fo-fo to you, well, now December 25 has a real story to tell. From this day forth, I will refer to that date as:

Jamesmas
