Quite a bit going on in that portion of the song...I'm not sure what "effect" you're referring too.

On first listen It appears to be just a pitch change. Pretty easy to roll your own.

pitch shifting or ring modulation. pretty simple.

sure maybe but thats how the sample was probably made. samples dont just fall out of the sky...

There is no such thing as a Paul van Dyke effect. All effects in Live come from Sasha, Sasha is the be all and end all of cool Live effects. If you want to have a cool Live effect, it has to be done in the name of Sasha!!! :wink:

I think there's also some kind of long reverb or filter delay on just the part that's being pitchshifted, that lasts well into the next song. The linked mp3 actually cuts of the tail of this on each of the three samples, but to me it sounds like a major part of what makes the effect (though I could be wrong).
