Computer Music Ableton Live Special Issue

Post by dCross » Mon Jan 08, 2007 5:59 pm

Hi everybody,

As some of you are aware, Computer Music Magazine has put together yet another special issue about Ableton Live. The focus is mainly on Live 6, but all Live users should be able to get something out of it.

There are walkthroughs on creating a track from scratch, DJing with Live, and building custom Racks. There are also features on Live user groups, artists that use Live, and a special "head 2 head" showcasing some of the best tips and tricks from this forum.

If you're in the UK, the issue will be available on newsstands throughout January. It's also available in select Borders and Barnes & Noble stores worldwide.

You can also purchase the magazine directly here. Select "Computer Music" from the drop-down menu near the top-right side of the screen.

Theres also a really nice Lite Version of our Modmachines Livefill/Livepack on the cover CD. Lots of really nice Racks and LiveClips to explore Live 6 with. All in all the Mag is a great read/reference for any Live User. Definately worth checking out.

Cheers,
Michael

the CD killed my superdrive, however...

Post by eblomquist » Tue Jan 09, 2007 12:14 am

Hey, not sure of the causal relationship, but the CD-ROM that came with the special Live issue of Computer Music didn't eject right, and then my macbook pro superdrive refused to accept any other discs. It was confirmed today at the repair place that the cd drive is f'd, but evidently the superdrive is a "known issue" with the macbook pro... argh...

otherwise, lots of good stuff in that issue...

I usually pick it up at Borders.

I think any of the really big book stores should have it.

I just got it tonite! It was the last one on the shelf @B&N. I'm just about to install the TrackTeam Audio stuff. Their last lite pack was real nifty indeed. And Dennis DeSantis cooked up some masterful presets for Reaktor's Electronic Instruments 2, so I'm looking forward to his contribution too.

got it

and it is kicking my ass. this issue and the DnB issue. are both kicking my ass. alot of info. also the rack that comes with the demo song (Instant Remix) is worth the $15 pricetag for the magazine.
