Beat repeat driving me mad! please help
I have a beat repeat set up to come in exactly on the 1st bar of a midi track, but, every single time I play the track back, the beat repeat misses the first couple of notes, then kicks in. I have tried numerous dodges i.e. turning the device on earlier to catch the track but to no avail - it still only decides to work halfway through the first bar.
I have my interval set at 1/2 and a grid at 1/12 , offset 0, mix is Ins and gate 8. Everything else is off.
Has anyone else had this problem and what can I do about it? I use ableton 6.01.
any help appreciated - thanks.

does a great job at explaining BR, maybe a look at it could clear it up for you.

I have no problem at all with beat repeat.
I had the exact same issue with live 5 long ago.
Now its ok but I don't use it that much, I prefer devine machine lucifer for beat repeating and ect like that.

yes, it may be a bug... Don't write to support though, start by updating to the latest version of 6, and see if that helps. If not, then please post a pic of your beat repeat, then we can all easily replicate the setup.
By the way, what I do if I want a sure-fire beat repeat is to leave the beat repeat on, set chance to 0% and then toggle the Repeat button instead.

Re: Beat repeat driving me mad! please help
Hi there,
I couldn't get my head around the Beat Repeat either : although i used the exact same settings as Keith Mills did, the « stutter » was launched one bar late, i.e. there was no way to repeat my very first beat or bar !
I eventually moved the device position in the plug-ins chain : instead of putting it at the end, i placed it in first position — now it works as it should (after one hour of frustation, self-doubt and anger).
