wich compressor is best to use for master output of the ones that come with live, compressor 1 or 2? forgive me i know little about these things?

i know compression is nesecary but i dont really know what good settings are

It's not correct to say that compression is "necccessary" and if you don't know how to use compression it's probably better to do without it. Try experimenting with different compressor settings on individual tracks first so you can hear what it does and get a feeling for the settings. Once you build up some experience with using the compressor and what the different controls do then you'll have a better idea of if and when you should compress your whole mix.

That being said, I wouldn't use the Live compressors on a mix. On the other hand, if you're talking about live performance and you just want to prevent overs, try using compressor 2 on the "Limiter" preset.
