i'm interested in this, too.

or how did you guys create this filtered french-kick-drums? in my view, the auto-filter in ableton is useless.......i can't get good results with it.

currently i use a vst-single-knob-filter for good results.......

thom

I saw a video with COSM recently and he mentioned that he uses a formant filter with Live. I don't know the name of the filter though.

I think the video is on dailymotion or youtube.

*** Edit - Got the name wrong COSM was the person I was thinking of ***

COSM uses the MDE-X series (I think that's what they're called) from Korg, and there is a formant in there.

However, I couldn't get this to run on an Intel-Mac, as a cut-down version came with the padKONTROL on CD.

I used MDE-X as a good example as a nice easy to use formant filter, and good for live use, but if your interested in those sounds I highly suggest learning how to make your own by chaining up band pass filters, its a great fun learning curve!

I can post more detailed about how I go about this if anyone is keen.

definatly would rather be up for learning how to make one rather than just being given one which i can't figure out how to adapt.

Post some tips please!

Alllllright! ill see what I can whip up.

Just mucking now actually with how to go about it using racks. I've never really used racks before to be honest  ive just never had the need but after 40 minutes of mucking about im in love. Should be pretty simple! It would be cool if I could do it all with ableton plugs so I can give a file download.

Will get back to you guys

There will be a sweepable 5-band vowel filter in one of our packs coming really soon ;-) It also goes from subtle to absurd quite quickly!
