Echo Indigo DJ Crackling

Post by sambo27 » Thu Feb 22, 2007 4:02 pm

Hi there,

I have just purchased an Indigo Dj soundcard to use in conjuction with Ableton Live V5 on my laptop. I have noticed a loud crackling sound is present when using the Echo ASIO drivers within Ableton. This also occurs within Cubase. The problem does not occur when using DX drivers. Also the problem does not occur when playing back wavs and mp3s in Windows Media Player or Adobe Audition. I am using the latest drivers from Echo's website.

I would appreciate any help with this issue as it is causing me major problems.

Many Thanks

Sam Shone

This may be due to the bus structure in your laptop. My HP has an ENE cardbus which causes problems with my Echo Indigo, but there is a special software workaround utility available from Echo to solve this. I suggest that you look at your System Devices, determine what type of cardbus your computer has, and contact Echo tech support.

Thanks for the reply, I have just check the device manager and I do have an ENE cardbus! I emailed Echo earlier explaining the problem but they have not replied yet.

Does the software utility cure the problem completely?

Yes, it's called the EchoENE Utility, and it's disables prefetch on the PCMCIA buss:
