Don't know about best, so this is just one that pops in to my mind -

The first time I heard Josh Wink's "Higher States of Consciousness". Obviously pilled up at the time. The main hook seemed to start building in a fairly standard "Acperience" kinda way but then it suddenly start going crazy in a way which had never been done before. Awesome! Had to ask the DJ what the record was and then went out and bought it the next day.

Most definitely the deep, gutteral moan of an intense female orgasm... but only when on the giving end...

Or the Good Times/Rapper's Delight bassline!

The one that sticks out the most in my memory is after moving from my house in West London, which was on a really busy road. I used to get woken up all thru the night every single freeeekin night by ambulances or trucks or police cars passing right under my window. Then I moved to a leafy little street in the East and on waking up on the first morning in my new home the first thing that flooded all my awareness was the sound of birds chirping outside. I've never appreciated that sound so much.

-the harmonica on the first song on Talk Talk's "Spirit of Eden"
-A german band called "The Notwist" has an album called "12", there is some guitar/drums parts in the title track that made me cry when I heard them the first time.

Definitely my childrens laughter first. It changes my mood instantly like nothing has ever done before.

In terms of dance music it would have to be that really well produced noise generator hat substitue sound that just sounds like someone turning a high powered air compressor on and off.

I hear that in a club and I think I am actually going to feel the blast of air that should accompany it.

- pebbles thrown on a frozen pond
- the airy bass at the beginning of LFO's "Blown"
- the utter silence between take-off and landing while snowboarding
- Johnny Marr's guitar

That horn from Jamie Bissmire's "numbers and measures".
That sound always sends my mind about 8 years into the past.

Heard a recording of Redhead from somewhere in Germany a few years ago and he started right off with a track by Kobbe called "Chromosphere". Something about it with the crowd going off in the background and that track charging in with it's screaming lead. Good stuff and still gets me going when I hear it. Too bad music like that is few and far between these days. Nowadays I download sets by these guys and all I get is bleep, chirp, bloop.

Beautiful atonality, incredible percussive sounds, velvety phrasings, and a thousand times more catchy and mysterious than the painful efforts of XXth century atonal composers.
What is more hi-tech than nature?
+1

'cept I'll change it to include all "birds singing" - definitely at dawn just before the sun rises. I love how it usually starts out with just one bird in the distance, answered by another somewhere else. And as the sun begins to rise the intensity increases as more and more birds join in.

Simply amazing.

I'd also add the sound of an owl breaking the silence at 4 am.

God, I hope to move out of the city one day.......
