Automation Problem

i am having a problem with automation in my tracks.

after i record a session i go to edit the track in the arrangement,and i draw in the automation to which ever part of the track i want various things to happen.The problem is when i play back the track in the arrangement none of the automated parts do anything,when they clearly should.Or a certain part will work then further on in the track it does not.Sometimes you can see the plugins turning themselves off when the track gets to the automated part or they stay on and still the automated part will not work.
Its very frustrating.

I hope someone can help me out with this.

make sure your back to arrangement button isnt active (coloured red).. if it is: click it,, which will make live follow the edits/automation done in the arrangment view. If this is the case look up the "back to arrangement" button in the Live manual.
