Need Help with Trigger Finger

Hi ppl!

I'm new here and maybe my english is not so good,but i'm live user and i need some help with M audio Trigger Finger if someone here could help me.

So this is problem...i don't know how to setup Trigger Finger that i get the sound by pressing one of 16 velocity pads once.

I know how to make it in Live ..by assigning pressure pad to "volume track" in Live and mark sample as a loop. Than u have to press every button twice..once to get Live track volume up and once to bring it back down.

But is it possible to make somekind memory inside Trigger Finger so that it can be used like drum machine for live act...in a way press once when u wish-and u get the sound (snare,kick,perc etc)

is there "thing" with M-Audio Enigma ..or how to do it in Live?

Map the Trigegr Finger pad to the CLIP you want to play, not the track volume.

hehe...i know that ..if u mean "launch clip"..but than u r not getting that-when u want sound" cause there's always time between two "launching" in Live..isn't it?

Trigger finger has a Pre-programmed map for Live. Check the manual for details, or take a look at m-audio's website

I bought a trigger finger as well thinking I could midi-map each of the pads to impulse drums but when I click on the midi map view, the individual drum samples aren't available to be assigned.

By comparison, I can simply plug in my Oxygen-8 and one complete scale on the keys is automatically controlling all of these drum hits.

I don't think I want to launch a clip every time I hit the trigger finger pad because then I'll have to wait till the measure restarts before the next one can launch. I want to be able to tap out a beat in real time similar to the way I can do it with the Oxygen 8 keys -- any advice? I'm sort of a noob at Ableton so I'm sure there's something I'm overlooking.

You can still do that in Impulse, you just need to set up the pads to play the correct midi notes. I KNOW it mentions in the manual what notes these are. What you want to do is entirely feasible, just need to get the TF set up to control Impulse correctly.

VOLUME:
To have it toggle volume with one press, press [Ctrl/Note Mute] on your trigger finger until the display reads "not" and then midi-learn to the track's volume slider. Press [Ctrl/Note Mute] again until it says "Ctl" and then you can midi-learn the same pad to a clip (you may want to set it's launch setting to "gate"). Press it again until it's red light goes off.

M-AUDIO has a cool example Live Set available on their website that uses this trick (it's hidden on their trigger finger product page; look in the left column!) http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/so ... epeats.zip

IMPULSE:
The Trigger Finger has a preset designed specifically for working with Impulse; press [Memory Recall] and then pad [P10] to recall it. It'll send proper notes; you don't need to use Midi-Learn. (Impulse will NOT allow you to map anything directly to the "play" buttons; this is not a trigger finger limitation. It's designed to respond only to "notes" passed to it as an instrument; the play button is for auditioning only.)
