midi controllers override

Post by Guest » Sun Jun 13, 2004 8:32 am

I recently bought an x-session to use with my uc-33e, needing more knobs and a proper x-fader, but I have a little problem with some functions that are overriding each other.
Let me explain... I'm using a knob on the uc for panning of track 1, works fine... but when I go in midi mode to map the fader of the x-session, it overrides the pan function.
Anyone got any suggestions?
I can't seem to work this one out.
Help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

ar - you have to figure out how to reprogram one of your two MIDI controllers and give its functions different CC numbers that do not conflict with any of the CC numbers that are being used by the other device.

Use MIDI CC numbers 1-40 on the Evolution UC-33 and number 41-70 on the X-Session

UC-33 Manual page #20

Select a controller ( Fader, Knob, etc )

Press Program

Enter the CC # you would like to assign to the controller ( i.e., CC#s that are not being used by the X-Session )

When you're done, press Memory and select a preset

Good luck

if its a uc33e, the enigma software makes programming a snap. The easiest way to seperate midi devices is to use different midi out channels. Just set the xsession to channel two and uc33 to channel one, and make assignments in Live--guaranteed no overlap, should just take a minute.
