Artist Promotions Portal for Live Users

Post by siddhu » Tue Mar 27, 2007 5:51 pm

I'm running a promotion through my marketing agency for a technology client Coding Technologies - the patent holders on a variation of the AAC/MPEG4 audio standard which has become the defacto file format for 3G phones and is now compatible with close to 100 million mobile devices.

aacPlus is also used by most of the "over the air" music download services worldwide and is the format for the XM Satellite Radio.

We are launching an "Artist Mobile Promotion Portal" which will be used to set up artist promotions with the major carriers worldwide and handset makers.

The artists get free promo, Coding Technologies gets to promote it's file format aacPlus, and the carriers get cool content.

Additionally, Coding/Tuner2 will provide you with a "widget" that can be embeded in web pages (such as MySpace) that lists in real time, which internet radio stations are playing your tracks. You can see this for example on the Coldcut page over to the right.

Our first promotional partner is Palm and Sprint as the Tuner2 Featured Artist mobile pages are now bundled with Palm's Kinoma player. The Kinoma player is standard on all Palm phones shipping with Sprint, and is also available for download for other Palm devices.

This is the web part of the mobile portal.

Artists will have a page like the Coldcut page on the web plus be part of the mobile portal.

I am extending this opportunity to the members of the Ableton community because there is some great music being produced here and I would love to help promote it.

How To Participate
==========================

1) PM me a link, or post a link to 2 or 3 tracks here, so I can have a listen to your music as we want to choose 2 or 3 artists from different genres for a total of 6-8 artists.

2) The music has to be 100% your own. No uncleared/unlicensed samples, or DJ mixes. You have to control the rights.

3) I'll post the names of the final selected artists here.

Good luck and have fun.

PM with any questions.

Thanks,

Siddhu
