PadKontrol off by one octave?

Post by fossilfool » Sun Mar 25, 2007 7:02 pm

Hi,

In the manual, it says the eight Impulse drum pads correspond to C3-C4.

But on my setup, with the PadKontrol, impulse only triggers when I use C4-C5.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

Thanks a lot,

Paul

because, as always the midi 'standard' is all over the place...

Some manufacturers start at C0, some start at C1....

So C3 does not always mean C3, it sometimes means C4!?!

perfectly normal once you learn to accept :D

Cool I just started using Live and I wondered why my mappings are coming out an octave off, from what the PadKontrol says they should be. I thought I might have had some kind of transpose thing on in Live.

I thought I read in another thread that it was Live that was off, not the padKONTROL. Not that it matters...

Also, how come the # sign looks like a flat on the screen? Couldn't they have just switched it around and made c# be b Flat instead? I was cursing at the thing because b flat came after b and then I realized.

A pointless response and threadjacking all in one. I should get a medal...

the most common are 'the roland standard' starting with C3 and
'the yamaha standard' starting with C4

the padkontrol uses 'the yamaha standard'

that's all

does that mean Roland are using the Yamaha standard :-)

as I said way above, they never seem to match when you try and make this work, and it's best just to accept it
