Show your STAGE set-ups!
I'm tired of putting everything in it's original box when carrying gear to shows. Time to invest ina few rack cases. I'm curious to see how some of you guys manage your gear while on the road. Right now our basic setup is as follows:
1. Nord Modular
2. PC tower and 15" lcd
3. MPC2000
4. Antares AVP-1
5. Summit Audio mic pre
6. Kaoss pad
7. Radium 61
8. Behringer XENYX 2442FX
So it looks like maybe racking the Antares and pre with a Furman powerstrip/conditioner would be nice. I've seen a Gator rack that had 4 or 8 spaces and a mixer space on top. Something like that would streamline things nicely.
Let's see how you're organizing/protecting your gear while performing.

Thats plenty to keep you busy. Looks fun.
I totally agree with you about rehearsing in the studio with your mobile rig. Right now it's a pain in the ass to regroup all the devices before and after shows. Not condusive to productivity at all. That's why I want to clean up the messy routine of having to deal with unhooking, putting device in original box, then performing the reverse when the show's over. It's sloppy and increases my risk of dropping something expensive in a dark club. Prewired, dedicated cases. That's for me.

ReMote 25
Roland A-37
Behringer MX2642A mixer
Video monitor
Video mixer
ReMote 25
In rack, lower right:
RME Multiface x 2
Drawmer DL221 compressor
Boss SE-50 multi-FX x 2
Akai S3200XL sampler
On side trolley, far right (partly obscured):
Powerbook G4 17" (midi triggered video running Modul8)
Powerbook G4 #1 (8 outputs from Multiface #1: kick/snare/bass/hat/stereo perc/stereo drums)
Powerbook G4 #2 (4 stereo pairs from Multiface #2: various instruments)
We use cardboard overlays on the ReMote25 and the mixer for each song to tell us what's where. We don't have to look at the Macs or touch them during the gig.
The two trolleys that the mixer and Macs are siting on break down to become road cases. All leads/power supplies etc sit in the bottom of the trolleys. The rig is patched and powered up side of stage, we connect our audio and video outputs, do a line check, then roll into position. Makes it easy to get on and off at festivals.
Every part of the rig (5 bits when packed) weighs less that 32kg/50lbs so that each bit can travel as "baggage" on aircraft. If it went "cargo" we would have to f!ck around with carnets and documentation which is a pain in the ass, and very expensive. With the gear traveling as baggage, it travels on the same flight as us, which is not always the case with cargo.

Nice setup and tracks (myspace).Pitch Black wrote:We're hopefully coming to the west coast in September when we will have a new album out. There's a possibility of us playing at Burning Man too, but with a MUCH reduced setup -- heard what the playa dust does to equipment!!
cheers
