Korg Zero8 could it be the ultimate controller for live

Post by coldrush » Sat Mar 31, 2007 8:41 pm

I have just ordered one of these after watching the video on you tube, looks like someone has actually nailed it at last, excellent for studio work and live playing/djing.

I was going to whine "WAAAAAAAAAAAAH IT'S TOOO EXPENSIVE!"
Then I read about it at the Korg site.
Pretty impressive piece of gear.

Can anyone find the manual for it?

I'm suffering gear lust again

I'd like to be able to read actual real detail on it rather than marketing bumf

The biggest question I have so far is does it do full audio I/O over the firewire port?

in other words, how many simultaneous ins and outs does it give to the computer?

If I can get all of the inputs streaming into live/mspinky/my custom software and 8 channels out output sending from the lappy into the mixer it'll be perfect. If it's only 4 inputs (2 stereo), but selectable from all lines+mics+phonos it'll be good. If it doesn't do inputs to the computer it's painful.

Everything can be midi mapped

Post by coldrush » Sun Apr 01, 2007 12:32 pm

Hi, in response to RePeter, every button and knob can be midi mapped and the lights around each control turn blue to indicate this, and you can switch between audio control and midi.

..most curious....

I like how they just sorta barely splash in that they are actually using SOFTWARE with the thing.....which brings me to the question of....what software was that?
