only Ableton has the ability to make Live packs, others have to make .als files to get the data into the library, rather than just making a .alp file
.
1: choose File / Manage Files from the menu
2 : press "Manage Project" button
3: choose "packing" fold down thing
4: create a live pack, .alp

I'm pretty sure that works, it did the last time I tried it
I'm not totally up on this, but there's two different ways to make Live Packs, users can make a more clunky one, Ableton has the tools to make a type that's easier to work with.

During preview click and hold on the Measure Ticker at the top of Live and drag up or down on it, you can scrub through previews.

Do you mean the Ticker numeric display?

I would love to see it on the graphical scrolling prewiew status bar, too.

Just being able to dot your mouse around on the horizontal scrolling progress bar - bip, bip, bip - and jump around the playback point

WOULD BE FOOKIN WIKKID!:D :D :D

Am I missing something? The ability to choose NOT to record automation when in record. So I can record audio without recording volume changes, send changes etc.

While taking part in the month's beta testing last summer, I just didn't see the point of the new Project Management. The previous system was fine, and I found it obtuse having file management on both the left and the right side of the screen. Why?

[one of the reasons that having beta tested thoroughly I actually decided not to upgrade and stayed on Live 5].

Crossfade!!!!!! That's a real lack.

Fix that damn bug with powercore (dsp are useless since 7 plugins can fullfill my cpu ressources).

Groups of faders, panpots etc... real lack too

Hey man,

what Powercore bug is this? I am running 3 Powercore cards and 2 UAD-1's on a P4 with no problems at all. Is this a known issue, and if so what is it?

Thanks,
Ken

Can't speak for others, but what I was refering to is the ability to have two audio clips overlapping in the Arrangment, with them auto-crossfading. This is absolutely a basic standard in DAW packages these days, and certainly one of the simple key things that imho keeps Live from replacing my main DAW software.
