Please add my Dad's New Album's Myspace page!

Post by eisnein » Wed Apr 11, 2007 2:31 pm

Hey everyone-

its not that often you get to say that!

so my Dad's myspace page for his new album "prezens" which is being released by ECM on this coming Tuesday April 17th was DELETED by Myspace yesterday for vague reasons unknown. I am sure some of you know the situation and how much that sucks

if you could please re-add his page if you already had or add it for the first time and check out the tunes up there and leave a comment.

My Dad is an avid Ableton Live user and has been into music/audio technology since back in the day (explains my love of the stuff!).

I definitely think this is one of his best albums so far (not just saying that) and has something to offer for everyone from the Jazz heads to the Electronic cats as well as some badass sludgey guitar riffs.

Pitchfork did a write up on the myspace stream for those of you that read that-
HERE

I would love it if we could the friend count close to where we had it before if not higher so if you could REPOST this bulletin on your myspace pages that would be super mega awesome and I would appreciate it so very much.

I apologize for the shameless Family promotion but I really appreciate your support!

thank you so much!

Elijah

here is the page-

I've loved his music for years, from Polytown to What means solid, Traveller and Bruford Levin Upper Extremities.... all terrific stuff. Looking forward to this new record!

heh heh. it was never intentional to keep it on the dl...just never had a reason for bringing it up!

indeed my Father is a guitarist, Film composer and producer. it definitely has had its pro/cons having a musician for its Dad's but when all is said and done its really nothing short of awesomeness! very extremely thankful for that!

he has done a great deal in terms of live looping, really long delays, micro processing etc. electronics, he loves Ableton Live, reaktor as well as his Nord Modular. but also writes big epic weird, dark, beautiful film scores as well.

some blurb of who my Dad has worked with since the last ECM disc- David Bowie, Jan Garbarek, Ryuichi Sakamoto, David Sylvian, Jeff Beck, Kaki King, John Legend,
Meshell Ndegeocello, Dj Logic, remixed by Dan the Automator, Tony Levin, Bill Bruford, Mick Karn, Terry Bozzio, Vernon Reid, Will Calhoun, Carter Burwell, Charlie Clouser, Tori Amos and Madonna to name a few-

you can check out his site here -

http://davidtorn.net which prob explains him better than his own son!

Hey, I just wanted to chime in that I am a fan of your father's music as well. I came to know of him
through Cloud About Mercury (as I bought anything that Bruford was on back in the day) and
have seen Bruford/Levin Extremities a couple of times in NY.

After going to the Myspace page, I pre-ordered Prezens from Amazon. Looking forward to hearing it.

'Good genes, there...
What it is (for Now): (2) Lenovo Dual Core desktops, Edirol PCR-800, Sonar 8.5 PE, Live 8 w/Operator and Sampler, the unloved PT 8, Kontakt 4, Battery 3, GPO 4, mulititudinous plugs and libraries, much unused hardware. And... silence; much silence.
